WHO IS JULIA

Julia Brake is a 28 year old interdisciplinary artist who focuses primarily on illustration, comic and book making and miniature dioramas. Julia graduated from the Visual Arts program at Grenfell Campus in April of 2021.

Julia hopes to work full time doing character design, illustration and working on developing and publishing graphic novels and/or children's books. 

Julia has also recently acquired a diploma in Graphic Communications and Design in 2024. With new skills such as Adobe Suite, Corel Draw and hands-on work in print production and finishing.

In the last year, Julia has grown to love painting portrait's of plush, both her own and some belonging to others as well. Themes of nostagia and the beauty of the mundane is a constant in Julia's work, she also loves to use watercolor to make cozy illustrations of things like bedrooms, interiors, portraits and character design.
